Mair Eluned - Mair qualified as a Women's Artistic
Coach in 1995 and later as a judge. She has coached at BGC voluntarily since
1996 and is a popular and greatly valued member of the coaching
team. She has coached gymnasts at a range of levels, including coaching
and accompanying a squad to the Island Games in the Shetlands. She
works full time for Anglesey County Council as a Health and Exercise
Co-ordinator as well as being mum to one year old Cai. |

Sarah Evans - Sarah qualified as a
general club coach in 1999, and qualifying as a Women's artistic club
coach. Sarah has been coaching at Bangor since 1998. She is a popular coach
and currently runs 7 introductory and intermediate classes at the club as
well as being part of the elite gymnastics coaching team. She works full time
in gymnastics, splitting her time between the club in Bangor and Anglesey and
Gwynedd Council Leisure Centres. Sarah recently qualified as a judge, too. |

Geraint Simpson - Geraint (brother to Mair above) is
a qualified Men's Artistic Coach and judge, coaching at BGC voluntarily since
1998. He is a glutton for punishment, teaching Mathematics in Ysgol Gyfun
Llangefni during the day. He is an enthusiastic member of the coaching team
having both participated in and coached the boys squad in the Island Games.
Until 2006 he was Chairperson of the club for 5 years but has now
relinquished that responsibility to spend more time with his two young daughters. |

Tom
became involved with gymnastics through his elder daughter and qualified as a
Women’s Artistic Coach in 2002. He continues as a valued coach and is parent
to 2 of our elite gymnasts Katie and Hanna. He also runs a gymnastics class
at Llandrillo College |
|
We would like to say
how grateful we are for our team of qualified coaches and assistant coaches
who help throughout the week and weekend. |

Steve
Perry Coach |

We are
grateful to visiting coach Steve for his input into the additional training
sessions and performance courses for our elite gymnasts. As well as being an
accountant by day, Steve is qualified Women’s Artistic Coach and formerly
coaching With Stan Buckley at Crewe Gymnastics Club. |

Mr
Buckley (as all the gymnasts know him) has an impressive resume. He qualified
as a Women's Artistic Coach in 1979. He has been a Welsh Junior Coach,
British Squad Coach and Welsh Commonwealth Coach. He is dedicated to the
development of gymnastics previously serving as chairman of WGA Women's
Technical Committee & North Wales Amateur Gymnastics Committee. As well
as currently coaching director to Bangor Gym Club and Buckley Girls Gym Club,
he is also BGA Tutor / Examiner to adult coaches. |
